Lessons I’ve Learnt
For those who are earning big bucks, here are some tips which you could go through for your own benefits:
1) Don’t be good at administrative work. If you are good at administrative work, chances are you would be helping your colleagues and superiors do backend work, and these are mundane and doesn’t pay off. I’ve met yet another company’s boss who confessed to me that she was NEVER good at administrative work!
2) Be very good at public speaking, or negotiation, if need be, be assertive. After all, a compromise is to make everyone believe that they have the biggest piece of cake.
3) Be presentable. You have to look smart, dress smart, think smart, work smart.
4) Stay back late in the office. Don’t overdo it, because if this tip backfires, your boss may be thinking that you are wasting too much electricity instead of being diligent.
5) Have coffee breaks as and when you like. Do this subtly so that you can convince your boss that you have a lot of clients to meet. Not for deskbound administrators like me though. Sigh.
6) Enjoy free vouchers to the fullest. Even if you are beginning to earn a fat salary, you have to partake in department outings, particularly those activities that are free (with complimentary vouchers given by vendors). Save some money for the evening’s dinner! =P
7) Monkey around with your colleagues. You are Mr/Ms Socialable.
Sit on your boss’ chair when you have the chance to. This is to test how capable you look in front of unsuspecting folks who come by to look for your boss, when they’ve never meet him before. This is also to show the rest of your colleagues that you are up to it, and that you are pally with the boss. Please do this only when the boss is not a very petty guy or girl. =P

Alright, that’s about it. I conjured most of those (fine, all of them) tips from mere imagination!
Just came back from lunch, and I have no idea what’s wrong with me, but my appetite seems to have shrunk. Ivan says it is good, cause I can take the chance to lose some kilos. -.-" Yeah, what if when the appetite comes back twice as much?!
Haha…

Today, I was given the chance to have a meeting with one of the vendors. It was just some basic editing of documentation, and then for them to sign. But nevertheless, it’s good that I’m being given this chance even though I highly suspect that it was just something mundane that needed not much discussion!

On Tuesday (21 June), I went out with Yuhui and her friend Michael. I think there was some miscommunication that went on, because we were supposed to watch Batman, and in the end it became "A lot like Love" instead.
I arrived pretty early, and walked around the Jurong Point that I knew at the back of my hand. Just kidding. =P
It was only when I saw the movie timeslots for Batman on Golden Village’s screen, that I realised that the timing that Yuhui informed, wasn’t available. In the end we knew that we weren’t watching Batman at dinner-time.
I reckon I would have my jaws dropped if I go into the cinema, and then ask, "Hey! I thought we were watching Batman?!" Haha…
Right, so that was surprise number one. Okay, I think that’s the only surprise for that day. The show seems to remind me of the show, "Closer".
The plot’s a little far-fetched and exaggerating. But it was alright, I guess. Haha. It is quite a typical story, though I quite like the way some of the photographs were taken. I love photography! =D

Movie watching is dependant on the company you’re with. No wonder someone has been watching a lot of movies lately. Haha.

Lately, the half of the office seems to be suffering from colds and The Flu. And very unfortunately, I am seated on the side of the sickly half! Now I can somewhat feel a sore throat coming, and I’ve sneezed a couple of times since morning.
Update: I was running a fever since last night (23 June), but I recovered from it. Now I’m having a cold, and sore throat. The manager whom I report to, told me not to worry and rest well in a reply SMS after I notified him. Thereafter, he asked me something and I replied. His last message was, "Thanks. RIP."
Isn’t that what they put on tombstones? Then again, rest in peace could also mean good, right? I should not be so narrow-minded. =)
It is the germs in the office! And did you know that your mouse (not you, Regina :p) has 400 times more germs and bacteria than the average toilet bowl?
So please wash your hands before any meals! The last I heard, was that the keyboard has a lot of germs too. Are they detering us from using the computer? Is this some kind of propaganda? Haha, just kidding.

The other day I was sorting out some documents in the office, and I happen to get a paper cut. It was quite deep for a paper cut. Tried to press on the slit wound, but the blood keeps flowing out. -.-" Amazingly, it wasn’t painful at all. Not even when I run my thumb under running water.
I must be numb, literally!
It was more irritating than pain-inducing. I was putting those documents in an envelope, and suddenly when I thought the blood had stopped, it bled again. -.-" Double Duh!
What is wrong with my blood platelets?! *Gasp*
Update: Daphne has just reminded me that I had a stapler bullet pierced through my index finger at work once, and I felt nothing. She was busy nursing my wound, and the blood kept falling out, yet I was so composed. In the end she wondered whether I was human. Ha ha ha. I just have a high threshold of pain!
Like how there was once, my ear stud got hidden inside the flesh of my ear, I went back to the jeweler, and she "fished" out the ear stud, while saying that I can endure pain very well!
But still, there are some pains I am paranoid about, and cannot endure… Gee.
