Memory Lane
Earlier on, I went out to meet my pals from a previous working place. I was the one who organised this outing, since it had been quite sometime since we last met up, and moreover, it was Joleen’s birthday!
Anyhow, from the initial decision to dine at B-Boss, and later discovering that it had already closed down, we changed the venue to Sketches. But platypus [her request for me to call her platypus] and Joleen saw a cheaper option, and we settled down at Terra Cafe eventually.
The place serves pretty affordable food, though the premise is rather cramp. I think one criteria for the waitresses and waitors to be employed, is that they should be slender enough to weave through the gaps between the tables.
The last place I went to, with such cramp premise, was Cafe Cartel at Plaza Singapura. The tables are damn close together!
Anyhow, I clocked OT again today, and I was late in meeting the two girls. I was supposed to knock off at 5.30pm, and would make it to Bugis before 6.30pm, but in the end I reached at 7 plus. The 2 days’ OT I’ve clocked is enough to pay for today’s dinner, but somehow, it was not worth it, because of the negativity involved. Someone was too insistent for their own good.
I was a little stressed up with 3 people hovering behind my back while I edited the document, but with the speed I’m typing at, and the many shortcuts I know and use often, I didn’t face much problems except for the pagination.
Oops, I think I digressed too much, anyway, the girls [Zane, Platypus, Yvonne, Joleen] and I settled down at Terra Cafe, with Yvonne joining us last, because she already had dinner at Swensen’s. -.-"
The image below is what I ordered, Roast Chicken with spaghetti!
Same food, same cafe, but a bigger company of friends. =) The birthday girl says she loves the presents we gave her. I got her a bracelet, and she had new earrings, nail polish and lip gloss.
I enjoyed myself today, and I’m looking forward to more gatherings!

Anyway, it’s quite ironical that I’m the one trying to avoid some topics. Perhaps I wanted to make the situation less awkward. During lunch, I was asked about the price of my mobile phone, to which I replied it was a gift.
Earlier when I flashed out my key rings, I was quite apprehensive that my friends would ask where it originated from.
I mean it’s not a taboo to me, so why should I feel so close-minded?

I’m celebrating with Gina tomorrow, and we’re dining at the cramped place I mentioned earlier in this post. Gee! More blogging tomorrow!
Oh by the way, did I mention that Joleen is the 5th person who read my friendster blog, but didn’t leave traces? It’s funny how you don’t tell people things, and then suddenly they mention that they know about it! Not pointing fingers at anyone, nor making complaints, just find it a little ironic.
Is it going to be the situation whereby friends find out how each other are doing [when they are too busy to meet up] through blogs more than a phone call? I shudder to think of that if it becomes reality! Would people direct their friends to their blogs when being asked what’s their latest news? Hmm. For me to know and for you to find out!

And, do you ever wonder if let’s say you have two friends and which you’re not aware of their acquaintance with each other, and the same goes for them?
Simply put, person A knows B and C, but A is unaware of the friendship between B and C.
B is unaware that A knows C.
C is unaware that B knows A.
The day when you realise that you all know one another, it’s gonna be so weird. I just found out that my ex-colleague was my friend’s ex! It was so coincidental, as CPF was so huge, and my friend merely asked if I knew "D" from CPF. Then we described "D", and realised that it was the same person! So cool!

Yeah, it’s quite nice, but the Roast Chicken is a tad too savoury for my liking though.
And I’m prepared to let everyone see what I’ve written in this Friendster blog, so it doesn’t really matter who reads without commenting. But I still hope they do, so that I know who actually visited. =)

A, B & C are example characters for illustration purposes. D is one of our ex-colleague, go and think! =P
