Transient Thoughts

Sunday, March 26th, 2006

Spirits have been downcast lately. A lot of things happened these few days, and it’s too much for me to handle. Sometimes people say things which mean another thing to the recipients, and misunderstandings arise when people don’t clarify.

But how would you be able to clarify when you aren’t aware of the presence of a misunderstanding?

It is ironic, I’m someone who treasures friendship a lot. Yet many a times, I’m the main culprit who ruins friendships. It’s against my wishes to say certain things, but what’s said cannot be undone.

Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything at all, but by being frank about my own feelings, would affect people adversely, then maybe I should shut my trap right from the start?

I appreciate help and everything, I never deny help from friends, but sometimes, it’s up to myself what I really want, and decide. Many years ago, I was being ostracised by a click because of my "attitude problem" (I was 14 back then, by the way), but oddly, at least half from that group were fine to still befriend me, but had to do so under the table. Peer pressure, I’d say. Who’d want to be ostracised by standing up for a friend?

I’m not trying to dig out some old stuffs that happened a decade ago, but just that certain things look like they are repeating in a pattern.

Today things are OK, but it always never fail to make me realise how humans always seek for recognition. Humans always do things and be confident about it, when it’s in the majority. You may recognise a particular behaviour as a negative trait, and when someone else agrees with you, you are more determined that it’s only true.

True, these may just be opinions, but having an opinion is one thing. Enforcing them is another. You may have your beliefs, but others have theirs too. And even so, what I merely did was to share with the other person how his/her behaviour may reflect, I wasn’t even trying to sow discord.

Was it fair to me? I may have been harsh in my delivery of my feelings, but what I said was how I felt, albeit a little late.

I’ve never meant things to be personal, don’t ever take it as my personal attack to you. I was just being upset about the whole unfairness thing.

On another note, why are some people so bent on hurting others? They claim they are not hurting others, yet by alternating between 2 people, these people are hurting 2 people at once.

I’ve had enough. I deserve to be happy. =)

Over Time

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

Time now, is 8.30pm. My knock off time is officially at 5.30pm. O_O Culture here is really that of workaholic type.

Have been having meetings for the past two days, and they are the type of meetings where everyone works on their laptops and have discussions at the same time.

TEN freaking hours. WOW. Should I say that’s my longest meeting? Meals provided though. Haha. First time I blog during meeting. Haha! -.-"

Busyness can really take my mind away from things. =)

Post-Birthday Post

Monday, March 13th, 2006

What better way to commemorate the birth of a [insert good and bad description] lass than to post a blog entry documentating the funnier side of me? Literally.

In no way are these events going to be written in any chronological, sensical, psychological, mathematical order, do you copy? =P

Despite random inane stuffs happening to me, I’d still wish that by the time I publish this post, I’d be resurrected into a new, happier me. So let’s begin. =P

*****

1) Because of routined behaviour, people seldom pay attention to minute details concerning mundane affairs. I’ve been rather used to refilling lukewarm water from the water dispenser by using a tumbler with a big mouth. If anyone noticed, the nozzles spraying hot water and icy cold water, are of a little distance from each other.

Cooler

So like what you’ve read and guessed [for readers who skip entries!], I had to use the normal mineral water bottle to refill water once. The mouth was too small to fit both nozzles, so by the time I pressed on the hot water nozzle, I scalded myself. Talk about stupidity having no cure. Ahem.

2) Once I was serving a guest some plain water, but because the water in the flask ran out, I had to pour some from the kettle. Mine’s a whistling kettle, hence at the spout there’s a little hole for it to whistle when the water is boiling.

After checking that the kettle is cool, I tried to pour out some water from it, but I just couldn’t. Despite the fact that help was verbally given, like "you have to open the cover!", I still made a huge blunder! I opened the lid of the kettle, thinking about the Science fact that you have to have at least 2 holes for water to come out from a concealed container.

After a long while, I finally manage to get the idea that I should lift the spout lid. -.-"

3) I’m the girl who hurt her knee because her mind was asleep when she stood up from her sleep. It all happened when I was online chatting with some peeps via MSN, I walked away from my lappie to nap on the hall’s sofa as the eyelids felt absolutely heavy. I didn’t notify anyone that I was going away, and my mobile phone was with my laptop. The house phone rang, and before I knew it, I woke up and dashed towards the phone. And fell. =(

4) Several years ago [actually not that long ago, but I'm trying to make it sound like the incident happened when I was way too young for common sense, heh], I was engaging in this little chat with my poly mates. The bulk of us were 20 years old that year, so during one crappy chatting session, we talked about watching R(A) movies.

Honestly I don’t see the rationale in being so "excited" over the fact that we can finally watch R(A) flicks, but heck, let’s just move on. =P

Without thinking logically, I told my friends that I’ll bring my 2 nephews along to the theatre to somehow prove that I was over 21 by pretending that those were my kids. Maybe you’ll ask how they are able to know I’m 21 just by bringing my 2 kids, for all they know, I might just be a young mum?!

BUT HEY, read carefully! It doesn’t matter whether I’m a young mum or whatsoever. My kids will definitely not be over 21, right? NOW you get it? Hahaha!

*****

5) Very often, I’ll hurt myself without being extra careless. I was at CPF Board when this incident happened. I stapled a stack of papers twice, both front and back as it was rather thick.

Seeing that the sharp ends of the staple bullet was protruding out, I used the staple to press them down. Was utilising the strength of my left index finger to press the end of the staple down, while I visualise scantly the worst scenario.

I sort of predicted what could happen, and within split seconds, it really did happen. The staple slid, and the sharp ends of the bullet impaled my vulnerable left index finger. Frankly, anyone would have their pupils dilated to the max upon seeing such a ’scene’, but I couldn’t feel anything at all.

Lucky for me, I had my dear colleague, Daphne, to dress my wounds.

6) Now that streaming music [either on your blog, or via winamp and shoutcast] is illegal, memories of deejaying from the Iguanamobile server are not gonna be relived.

I was cyber-deejaying once, and I said a lot of things on air, but minutes later, I realise that my mic wasn’t on, and I had wasted my breath. -.-"

*****

7) Usually wearing skirts mean it is easier to relieve yourself in the Ladies should the call of nature be urgent, since it’s all about lifting the cloth up. However, the blur me chose to unzip instead. Do extra for what?!

*****

8) I have this tendency to blow at my food to cool them, regardless of whether it is really that hot or not. But this habit of mine always surface even when I’m having cold desserts, like ice kacang. This is a stupid habit. Now stop laughing. =P

*****

Happy Belated Birthday to the silly klutz me who was 24 on the 11th March. =)
