New hairstyle!

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

I went to JB on Saturday, cut my hair, and watched Garfield: A Tale of two pussies Kitties. =X The Garfield movie hasn’t launch in Singapore theatres yet. It was quite a funny show, though I was so tired I almost fell asleep. =X I think I’m really a tap, for there was one heartwarming scene [can't remember which one], where I teared.

Ate Teppanyaki at the foodcourt and somehow got reminded of some past. As much as I wish to put it behind me, too many things just jolts these unwanted memories. I’ve once said, I’d rather I had not known a person in the first place, should we never be acquainted anymore.

Stamp
Previous hairstyle, with a sultry look?

Halfway through my hairdye [the hairstylist, Ben, said he wouldn't recommend me to do highlight, since my black hair has already grown out quite a bit. Unless I do a base color first, which I have no money to!], somehow met up with Ivy. I was not the one to bump into her though… Keke.

I’ve met her only a few times, but we hit it off quite well [some sort]. And she yelps when I poke her, just like Yuhui. =X keke…

Sidenote: Whenever I mention Yuhui, I’ll get reminded of buying a new phone. LOL.

After my hair was done [people only needed an hour for dye and cut, I sat there for 2 and a half hours], I went to meet up with the gang. Oh yah, I found out that the hairstylist, Ben, took part in Malaysian’s Project Superstar before! Actually I don’t like to go for haircut, and I find Singaporean hairstylists pretty stuck-up? Especially those working for those ‘hip’ salons. Or perhaps I’m just being biased?

That’s why I would rather go to a neighborhood salon. So Ben helped me with a new hairstyle [actually quite similar to my normal ones lah, haha], which I pretty like. :D

Wang_jiao_jb

The gang of us meet up to go Wang Jiao to eat HK food. I wanna go HK! :D Ivy and her friend, Felicia, met to shop till they drop [actually only Ivy lah]…

See below! All of them ordered mee, I ordered pasta, which they call Fusili as ’spiral pasta’. -.-"

Abigail Chay - The man who became a woman

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006

She’s the girl whose mother was known as the ‘McDonalds Auntie’ to most people [the English-speaking Granny who complains in the McDonalds' advert that her grandson is too troublesome to bring out]. She’s the girl who was once a man. She was once trapped in a man’s body.

I’ve just watched Life Story on Channel 5, she had decided to confess to the public of her sex change, so as not to ever be blackmailed again [to do things against her wishes].

"From a young age, Abigail knew that she was a girl trapped in a boy’s body. Like other young girls, she would fall in love with boys and secretly play with her mother’s makeup. But she would always tell herself that she was a boy and those were bad feelings and wrong things to do. She knew fully well that as the only son and only child of a traditional Chinese family, she had the duty to carry on the family line. She tried dating girls and even went through National Service. But at the brink of adulthood, she decided it was time to seek professional help. She was somehow given the impression that she could be a ‘hermaphrodite’, case of Genital Anomoly. She decided to undergo sex change and confessed to her parents her desire to become a woman. Her decision was not an easy one. Her parents were infuriated and devastated upon hearing the news. But their love for their child shone through in the end, and Abigail’s father funded Abigail’s sex-change operation with his insurance payout. Today, Abigail still lives together with her doting father. She is hopeful that she will be happily married to a man who will love her unconditionally and take care of her family."

Her courage is to be admired. :)

Fireworks virgin

Sunday, August 13th, 2006

We caught the fireworks display last night at somewhere opposite the merlion. We stood at the wrong side, the fireworks were being ignited on our left, but we thought it was going to be released at the stage in front of us. So yup, didn’t manage to see much. Jenny was there yesterday, also blocked by trees. -.-"

As Bear coined it, I’m a fireworks virgin. Next time if we want to watch fireworks, better consult the fireworks guru, Mousey. :p She showed me a picture of the fireworks display she took using her camera phone, it was so crisp and clear!

*Jealous* =(

I didn’t get to eat durian today!! :( Boohoo.

And oh, if you hate crowds, or don’t want to be in squeeze situation, you don’t have to be there in the first place. :D

*****

I wanna go overseas!! :( I wanna buy new camera phone! Okay, this blog is so bimbotic. O_O

Another reason to cut my hair: So that my hair doesn’t eat my food. -.-"

And I better don’t be so violent. :p Restore that demure image. *cough cough* Wahaha.
