D&D Tropicana

Not long ago, I had my company’s Dinner & Dance. The theme was Tropicana/Hawaiian. But I wasn’t informed that I am invited to go, hence it was only 2 weeks prior to the 15th of December, that I got around to search for my clothing.

Sidenote: Due to tax issues, they do not invite contigent staff [contract staff] to the D&D. But they invite the FTE [Full Time Employees] to the D&D, and also allow them to bring a partner, be it their spouses or perhaps a contigent staff in the same team.

I found a flower garland on Yahoo Auctions, and it’s customisable. In the end I paid $15 for it! :p Found the wrap skirt online too! So, didn’t spend too much for the D&D, but at least I’m unique! :p

I came a little late, and some peeps were doing their airbrush tattoo on their arms. But I had no chance to do so, for they wanted the attendees to enter into the ballroom.

When some of them saw me, they exclaimed, "So cute!!" or "Hey, this is so sweet!". I was the only one with a handmade [but not by me] flower garland. Most of them have a flower in their hair. Hehe. I think around 10 plus people complimented me? Hehe.

Why we call this the D&D? Because these people [refer to below], they dance, we dine. Haha. :p Kind of find the last year’s D&D [which was held on 20 Jan 06, oddly] better, and more entertaining. All of us were involved, and yet this time round, only the first few tables were involved. Games were also repeated from the Partner Conference held in April.

After the buffet dinner, a few of us stayed behind a little, wanting to groove to the music, but on seeing that no one else was around [except us and a few others who were seated], we didn’t not to dance. Went on to take photos instead.

This was me before I went to the D&D, took taxi there, spent $20, and found out that even if I came at 8, it wasn’t too late. -.-"

Frankly speaking, I do look different in EVERY photo. Haha. :p

Got a webcam [Microsoft Lifecam VX-1000] as the door gift. The redemption coupon was designed by me, the prize labels for the lucky draw [only for FTE] were designed by me, the 151 lucky draw names, were boxed up in Excel and cut up by me. But too bad I have no chance to take part in the lucky draw.

Last year’s was themed Masquerade, this year themed Hawaiian. As the years go by, I think I can reuse my ‘accessories’. Hehe.
